Cats don't rule the world -- its presence is nothing but an inconvenience for them.
Sometimes your best friends are not limited to two legs. Sure, pets can't talk, but is that necessarily a bad thing? Let's face it, our pets know more about us than most of our friends do. This is a small tribute to the small friends in life.

Pebbles should have been British. Sure, all cats seem to look at the world with disdain, but Pebbles had it down to an art, never losing her cool even when dogs started invading her house.

"Yeah, I like sitting in small boxes. What's it to you??" Classic Pebbles.

Raven was one of the most unusual creatures I've ever known. Just look into his eyes in this picture and you can see the wisdom... a little unexpected from a dog.

Have you ever seen a dog ham it up for a photograph before? Neither have we, but Raven became quite the photographic ham in his later years.

As a puppy, Raven may not have been quite as self-confident as he later became, but there was still that peculiar look in his eyes.

Cactus Bob is almost a completely different kind of cat than Pebbles. He is bold, he is brash, and he doesn't mind telling you exactly what he thinks. I got him when he was a kitten.

Cactus Bob is also one of the few cats I know with a wicked sense of humor. If you don't believe me, go spend a week with my folks. Just call first.

These two dogs weren't mine. In the foregound is Chewie, named after his tendency to howl like Chewbacca; in the background is Dead-Dog, named after his tendency to look dead.

I used to be an amateur herpetologist, so when this toad wandered into my basement, it didn't stand a chance. It now lives in a terrarium with an insane spider plant.

How has Cactus Bob adapted to sharing a home with a dog? Quite well, from the looks of this Garfieldesque smile.
